6 Riders Assembled at the Bluebird and after a phone call we found the expected 2 other riders were otherwise engaged so we set off on the A59 and turned into the Balderstone road to get to Osbaldeston. Usual situation, ignore the road closed signs and carry on but just as we got to Osbaldeston the road was actually closed with diggers working so we turned round back to the A59 and carried on to Tiggis for a right turn to Top of Ramsgreave. Right here to Mellor and the Feildens Arms where we turned left on the A677 and turned off at the Stanley House Spa to get to Samlesbury Bottoms. From here up to Blackburn old road, past Hoghton Towers and right to Riley Green then back to Gregson Lane to Coupe Green and Bob’s house.
Just as we arrived Dave Y and Alan A were arriving and Bob’s 90 year old friend arrived.
As usual we went into Bob’s man cave and saw all the projects ongoing and then went out into the garden where Barbara had set us up with drinks under the Gazebo. After a fair while chatting Barbara brought out the hotpot, shepherds pie and all the garnishes. As always the meal was lovely and to top it off there was lemon meringue pie and a trifle. Barbara always does a great meal and we all thanked her for the wonderful spread.
After a while we all departed for our homeward journeys after a lovely short ride and a great lunch. Many thanks to Bob and Barbara for everything.
Sorry we forgot to take pictures!!!
