Chairman Richard’s Pottering Run 28th May 2022

What can I say? A run which starts at a café and ends at a brewery! That’s my kind of run. 8 members met at Auction Eats café near Garstang on a very nice sunny morning. Colin was riding his almost new AJS Cadwell 125. Very nice too and it seems to go very well. Richard led us off down the lanes towards Oakenclough and then to Abbeystead where we stopped by the river for a rest and to take a few photos. John M draped himself over his bike like Kate Moss while Colin was unsure which was his best side so stood behind his bike. We carried on and turned for Quernmore (the locals pronounce it ‘Kormer’) We stopped at Jubilee Tower to admire the view as it was such a great day, clear and sunny. From the Lake District and Barrow to Blackpool and beyond, what a view. Even the Isle of Man ferry came in to Heysham while we watched on.

Down the hill to Lancaster Richard led us a crafty way around to Condor green where we turned right to Glasson Dock. We had a very pleasant lunch at picnic tables overlooking the marina. Once refreshed we took the road to Cockerham and a circular route towards Pilling, Stakepool and on to Farmyard Ales in Gulf Lane. We enjoyed a pint sat outside in the sun, not a cloud in the sky. From here we split up and went our separate ways home. Thanks Richard for a really nice enjoyable day out.
