Silverdale Run 16th August
Only 5 Riders were able to go on this run due to holiday commitments by many but 4 set off from Auction eats at 10:30 to arrive at crook o Lune to meet Peter and after a short rest Alan led us off back to the Caton Lancaster road towards lancaster and then right to cross the Lune via the iron bridge and the straight up to the Kirkby Lonsdale road where we turned towards Kirkby lonsdale. The through Nether Kellet and over Kellet to Borwick where we crossed the A6 to get to Warton. The planned route was just being closed of probably for their fete day so we turned up the road over Warton Crag to end up at silverdale. A quick stop at the village Co-op to buy some sandwiches and then on to the Woodlands Hotel.
The entrance to the Woodlands is a bit confusing and just like last year some of the riders took the wrong fork and went up the cul-de sac but shortly they all arrived at the hotel. A new feature at the Hotel this year was a mobile burger bar so next year we could take advantage of this. A lovely break was had here in the sun as we drank and ate, and after about an hour we re mounted and set off on the return journey.
