On a lovely sunny warm evening only 3 riders met at Windle Island ( Tesco petrol station). Dave A, Tony and Laurie set off for a bimble through Crank, Billinge and Carr Mill Dam. Then down the dreaded East Lancs Road to Lowton , where we turned off for Culcheth and on to Hollins green. The Black Swan is a lovely pub and we parked up on the grass where we were joined by Leo and Cliff. Albert rode in on his lovely old BMW R50 with Earles forks. Cliff lives nearby and has a beautiful AJS model 20 twin. I wish mine was as nice! Alan was in the car, as was another new member from Chorley (sorry forgot the name). George (‘The Hair’) was also in the car from the Cheshire section.

I was disappointed with our turn-out ( where were the rest of you?) but with only one bike, the Cheshire section turn-out was puzzling. I just can’t understand this- on such a lovely evening, what could be better than riding out and meeting up with mates at a nice pub??

Anyway thanks to those who did make the effort to turn up on an AMC bike to represent the section. Also nice to meet up with Albert and George for a pint.  Leo’s bike was looking splendid after all his hard work. Also nice to meet up with Cliff and we hope to see him and his lovely Model 20 (it puts mine to shame perhaps I’ll park mine ‘round the corner!) at our section nights and runs. Wait a minute, this will got tricky. We already have a Cliff, maybe we’ll have to call him Bruce to save confusion!

See you Dave.
