Farmyard Ales Classic Vehicle Night 2nd August 2022

The day started off quite wet and windy and it looked a bit like a washout but as the day wore on the clouds parted, the sun came out and by 4pm it looked like a nice evening was approaching. Many riders decided to go straight to Farmyard ales rather than gather at Auction Eats and when we arrived it was a very sparse gathering but at least we spotted a couple more members at the tables with their pints being downed. By now it was warm and sunny but the wind was really slicing through the area and even the refreshment tent had to shielded by a van to keep the worst of the wind away from the cooking area!

Very soon more and more exhibitors and members arrived until there were about 8 club members in attendance and after sampling the catering tent’s Burgers (very good this time) and a selection of the ales (I tried one of the citrus flavoured pale ales in a shandy and it was delicious!) we took a walk round to view the cars and bikes on display. Some nostalgic chats with some of the exhibitors ensued as we spotted bikes and cars from our younger days.

I felt it was a really enjoyable afternoon ride and gathering enhanced by a nice country ride back home before sunset.
