Seven members turned up at Springwood Car Park and despite a poor forecast it was dry.  We headed off to Sabden along the back roads which are usually quiet, but the road was closed and all traffic was diverted down a single track, causing mayhem!  We went to Foulridge through Roughley Blackco, stopping at the canal side cafe for coffee and cake and then carried on to Oxenhope. Here we had lunch at the steam railway.  After which the fun began!  Peter A left us, to go home.  The road to Hebden Bridge was closed, no diversion signs in place, so we headed off to Halifax to try and pick up the Todmorden Halifax road, but there were no signposts, so we used Cliff’s sat nav.  This sent us round in circles!  We eventually found the Halifax Todmorden road and Cliff turned left, so 3 of us followed him to tell him he had gone the wrong way, while the other three somehow passed us without knowing.  We got to Hebden Bridge and by this time the rear three were in front of us, on the way to Todmorden.  Then Bob’s throttle cable snapped!  After repairing the cable, we found out that the rear three had given up and gone home, so we carried on over the tops to Burnley and back to Springwood Car Park. An eventful day, but luckily the rain stayed away!
