Run to Farmyard Ales 3rd August 2021

We had heard that Farmyard Ales in Cockerham were holding some classic vehicle nights with reports that there was a good collection of vehicles and bikes there So a run was organised and three riders made the trip to sample their ale and look at the classic vehicles. I took my Sunbeam S7, Alan was on his lovely Moto Guzzi and Dave was on his CSR.

On arrival we parked up in the line of bikes and spotted Dave L, who had come on his Zundapp Bella, sitting at a table with his shandy so we commandeered the table for the AMOCNW! A while later we as were sitting in the sunshine with our pints of ale Chris R arrived from Lancaster on his special and he joined us so now there were 5 members present.

The queue for the refreshment trailer was huge so we set off to admire the vehicles. Many and varied they were too with quite a few bringing back memories of our past.

One exhibit we felt we recognised was a new Imperial previously owned by Graham Jackson of Hambleton. The cars on display varied from a smart Maserati to a supercharged V8 dune buggy and many examples of cars from the 1920s to the present day. A superb example that took our eye was a customised Ford Deuce Coupe impeccably finished with fine chromed strips on the mudguards and a superb cast windscreen frame in aluminium.

With the time approaching 7:45 we set off home having enjoyed a lovely evening riding and reminiscing!
