This year the Jampot Rally was held in the Cotswolds at Stowe-on-the-Wold. Rose and I set off on Monday and camped near Chipping Campden on a CL site at a working farm. Albert and Dianne from the Cheshire and North Wales section were also camped there. We both towed our caravans with vans with bikes inside.

On Thursday morning, we both de-camped to Stow Rugby club. There were plenty of members already there. We set up the caravan and took the bikes out of the vans. Rob arrived later in the afternoon.

The Friday run was to…Chipping Campden! Friday night was a quiet drink in the bar.

On Saturday Chris arrived on his Matchless. Also arriving were Joan, Malcolm, his cousin Keith and Keith’s son. The Saturday run was to an airfield/museum and later the autojumble started. We met Ernie and Sheila searching stalls in despair for Harley bits (not really!) On Saturday night, we were entertained in the bar by The Retros, not bad.

The Sunday run went to Bourton-on-the-Water which was packed with tourists as expected. We made our own way back to the rally site. The shiny bike contest and autojumble followed but luckily the bar was open! Later the presentations were held in the bar and we were entertained by The Average Wyatt Band, who were really good.

Overall it was a really nice, friendly rally. It was good to meet up with lots of old friends. The weather was great, lots of sun and blue skies. The runs went through fantastic scenery, lovely little lanes and villages, through the rolling Cotswold hills and woods (and yes, we did find a ford, twice!)
