Unfortunately the run was cancelled due to the weather on Saturday (persisting down!)
I had a nice run over there on Sunday though on the Ajay. I had a very pleasant couple of hours looking at the bikes, cars and tractors. I heard that NW member Mike Watson had attended the day before. There was a good section of bikes, nice Rudge, a very original 3T Triumph, 3 postwar AJS and 3 prewar. I very nice trials Matchless and lots of others. At a guess I would say about 40 bikes in all. There were some very nice old cars, Morris 10/6 etc, the usual MG sports cars and Austin 7’s , and lots of very boring (to me) Austins, Morris’s Vauxhalls etc from the 60’s (yawn). Now the tractors, wow what an assortment, well over 30 of all kinds, shapes and sizes. Some like a McCormack International in immaculate condition with it’s restored plough. Others looked like they’d been working that morning. Some nicely restored wagons as well, all sign written and very nicely painted. Donations from the show went to the Spinal Unit at Preston, so a worthwhile cause.
Dave.
