8 Riders turned out for the annual Chip Shop Run on a glorious August evening. We were taken aback at the Farmers arms as it was swamped with fell runners gathering to to participate in their Harrock Hill Run and because of this we decided to end the run at a mystery location!
Dave led us off via High Moor, Robin Hood and Bannister green into Eccleston where we found we were 3 short! A short while later they turned up having had trouble starting one of the bike’s.
The lady serving warned the staff the Hells Angeles had arrived but we corrected her to say she didn’t need the ‘Hells’ bit.
Fish ‘n’ chips bought we tucked in on the lawn and had the usual good natter. When all was done Dianne acted as host and cleared away the crocks before we set off for a run round the lanes to find the mystery location.
A smashing tour round the locality included passing through Appley Bridge, Croston, Mawdsley and many other lovely villages which looked splendid in the light of a lovely sunset until we arrived at the Robin Hood Inn between Eccleston and Mawdsley. It was a quiet evening at the pub and we had the place to ourselves, so after ordering drinks we sat outside on the picnic furniture in the fading light doing the usual, putting the world and motorcycles to rights.
We went our separate ways at about 9:45pm after a very enjoyable evening out on the bikes in what we all agree is some of the best countryside in the county.
Thanks Dave, a great run out.
