Four riders and three other members in cars travelled to Anfield Crematorium to bid farewell to a
much admired and loved club member Les Cornforth. His family was very pleased to see that some
club members had turned up to be at his memorial service and they spent some time talking to us
and admiring the bikes.
After the service we returned home via a “Scenic” route and all had a pleasant morning remembering and riding. A fitting send off for Les.
7:30pm at the Farington Lodge Hotel about 30 members, their wives and partners and our Honoured
Guest couple, Malcolm and Joan of Andrew Engineering, sat down to a lovely meal and evening of
chatter and fun with the now famous Raffle. Bob Cowell had prevailed upon his daughter once
again to produce a superb cake which was eagerly despatched with the after meal coffee and tea.
The chairman thanked all in the club for their efforts over a very successful year and hoped that
2016 would bring another year of good weather for rides and meetings and in particular thanked our
special guest, Malcolm for the support he has given over the years to keeping our bikes on the road.
Thanks go to Jim for arranging the lovely evening once again.
