The Scarisbrick Run Saturday 20th Sept 2025
Setting off from Charnock about 10:30 we were a gang of four, Bob, John, Tony (leading) and me (Mic). We set off under a under a leaden sky and wet roads to take a circuitous route to Scarisbrick passing through the villages of Eccleston, Maudesley, Latham, Bickerstaff, Halsam and Shirley Hill. We then Spent a pleasant couple of hours viewing the various exhibits at the Farming museum/farm. Met up with Dave and Rose and their dog “Get Down” the event was in aid of a local farming charity and a band and refreshments laid on. Of particular note was the Rover open topped tourer used in the last series of All Creatures great and Small. Tony lead us back via Burscough and Newburgh where he peeled off at Parbold leaving us to carry on home by which time the light drizzle was turning into light rain. A good run out, no incidents or technical issues from our AMC bikes and according to my REVER app, a distance (for me) of 47.9 miles with a run time of 1 hr 50 mins. A good day out thanks Tony!
