13 bikes and 14 people turned up at the club for the chipshop run on a sunny evening. Dave led us off to the west around Bispham , Hoscar and Mawdsley to bring us to the chipshop at Eccleston.

Here we all tucked in to fish and chips or chips alone and sat in the garden enjoying the summer evening.

Once all had been eaten Dave led us off a different way to Mawdsley and then Dalton where a “Road Ahead Closed” sign caused some consternation but as other cars were using the road we ventured up to the end to find that is was just resurfacing work. We travelled along the road towards Upholland taking it very carefully on all the loose chippings. We took a left turn towards Appley Bridge and then Parbold. The sun at this point was very low in the sky and it was quite difficult to see as we passed through the shadows under the trees.  At some point about this time, half the riders got separated and after waiting for a while at a junction we decided to press on to the Robin Hood Pub between Eccleston and Mawdsley as Tony was in the lost group, knew the area, and knew that was where we were ending up. The front group arrived and parked up and 5 minutes later the rest of the group turned up so all was well.

A quiet half hour sitting outside in the fading light drinking and chatting completed a lovely evening.

Thanks Dave.
