The sad news for January is that Lawrie Roberts, one of our section’s founder members, died on the 19th January after a short stay in hospital. Four members rode over to Maghull to ride in the funeral cortege to his final pit stop, in total 12 members attended the funeral along with his family and other friends. Many of the national Club Section members will no doubt remember Lawrie and his son Scott from rallies and events in the 70’s and 80’s. We will all remember Lawrie as a font of knowledge on our bikes and a gentleman willing to help everyone where he could. Many members have bought bikes that he owned and three of them followed him on his final ride.
So we say our final goodbye Lawrie, we will all miss you but never forget you.
