John’s ride on the 09 October
4 riders turned up with heavy to light rain falling. John led off and headed west via Midge Hall to Sollom over the metal bridge to Bretherton and the first stop at the Velo cafe.
After the break with the weather drying up we rode towards Parbold then left to Standish then to Haigh cutting across to Horwich for a lunch stop at the lower barn for Lunch.
After lunch we went through Horwich and turned to go over the top road where we turned left for Belmont village. Turning left again we came over to Rivington going round the north reservoir to our last stop at Rivington Brewery for a quick drink.
Bob headed back towards home and the 3 other riders went via Adlington to the A49. Tony headed home via Standish and the last two riders continued back to Euxton and home.
The weather turned dry after 11:30 to about 15:00 so it was a wet but pleasant ride.
