After fighting their way through the rush hour traffic 12 riders turned up at Samlesbury for Bob’s evening run and hotpot.
Bob was on his newly commissioned G3LCS and very nice it looked too.
Joe was a bit worried that his Model X had played up on arrival so took his leave in case it really went downhill during the ride.
So 11 riders set off for a trip round Balderstoe, Osbaldeston, Mellor, Ramsgreave, Hoghton, Gregson Green and back to Bob’s house.
Bob found us a lot of very narrow and hilly lanes with lovely views over Samlesbury and surrounding areas on a warm evening. Richard managed to catch a bee in his face and needed antihistamine when we arrived back. That will teach him to leave his visor open!

Back at the Cowell residence Barbara had prepared a lovely spread of Hotpot, Veggie Lasagna, and shepherds pie for us with beetroot, pickles and red cabbage. For desert there was a lovely trifle and sponge cake. All this was prepared on tables in the back garden and we all sat round in chairs on the lawn and te and chatted in the summer sun.

After partaking of this feast the assembled group gave a vote of thanks to Bob and Barbara for their efforts and commended them on a job well done. It started to turn chilly so at around 9pm the party broke up and we went our separate ways.

It was nice to see such a good turn out with riders from Morecambe, Lancaster, Thornton, St Annes, Scarisbrick, Euxton, Chorley, Middleton and Samlesbury. Quite a challenge for some through the rush hour traffic in Preston. Thanks and well done all.

Richard
